Following the Community Pharmacy Technician Training and Development Pilot hosted by Coventry University in 2018, they have developed six workshops for Community Pharmacy. These workshops are designed to give you practical tools and techniques to make an impact in your Community Pharmacy, regardless of the size of your operations.
Coventry University is therefore holding a West Midlands Community Pharmacy Development Event at the NEC on Sunday 24th February from 10:00 until 16:00 hours. The event is FREE to attend and provides you access to the workshops, including all materials via an online platform. This event is open to all who work in Community Pharmacy, everyone will benefit and we encourage more than one person per pharmacy to attend too.
The six workshops include: Self-Awareness to go from ‘Good’ to ‘Great’; Appraisal and Accountability; Influencing to get the most for your business; Coaching for improvements’ Teamworking: bringing you all together; and, Improving cultures for customers.

Advancing Diabetes care Excellence through Pharmacy Team Training (ADEPT): Pharmacists leading diabetes excellence in their community
The West Midlands Diabetes Expert Advisory Group and Sustainability Transformation Partnerships (STPs) are looking to develop new approaches to Diabetes Care in the community and to enhance workforce skills to provide new services. The ADEPT programme has been developed by clinical experts and aims to support improving diabetes care outcomes based on NDA, NICE and Diabetes UK standards. NHS England have commissioned Coventry University to support delivery of ADEPT across the West Midlands, which is provided free of charge for community pharmacists working in the West Midlands STPs.
The programme will enable you to:
The course is 6 weeks in duration and can be accessed entirely online (self-directed study), or with the option to attend face to face sessions on Week 1 and Week 6 at venues across the West Midlands. Support is provided by academic healthcare professionals at Coventry University, either via the portal, email or face to face tutorials. Self-directed study is guided by teaching aids and study material on the portal, and quizzes enable progress to be self-monitored.
To confirm and recognise learning delegates will be asked to submit a written case study up to 3 months after completing the programme, for review.

Pharmacy Complete are running a workshop in Birmingham on 5 March 2019. It is targeted at independent contractors to help them plan and build a more sustainable future for their pharmacy.

Information Governance training for GP leads, Caldicott Guardians, practice managers and staff with responsibility for Information Governance on a day to day basis.
The training will give an overview of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and what it means for your organisation in ‘real life’ and an overview of Information Governance training (as mandated by the toolkit).
